Configuring VectorCUT® With Graphtec CE-6000

First, install the Graphtec CE-6000 original cut software Graphtec Studio. VectorCUT® 2.0 will not work without first installing the cutters original cut program. After installing Graphtec Studio, make a test cut verifying that it works properly.
Next, download and install VectorCUT® 2.0 by going to CadworxLIVE® homepage and select SUPPORT/Downloads.
After installing both programs, follow the instructions below...
Connect the CE-6000 via USB to the computer but DO NOT turn the cutter on yet.

Open VectorCUT® 2.0 by using the desktop icon...

1. In the Cutter pulldown list, select the CE-6000.
2. Next, select the Properties button to the right of the Cutter list.
3. Under the Port tab, select Printer Port and select the CE-6000 in the pulldown list to the right and select OK.

  • If the cutter is not listed, normally this means that the driver is not installed on the computer and will need to be installed. Note: The driver is installed when Graphtec Studio is installed on the system.

4. Verify the connection by sending a test file from Design Studio to the cutter.

  • If it did not connect, go to Devices and Printers in your Windows Control Panel. The CE-6000 should be listed under Printers and Faxes. Right click on the CE-6000 and select Printer Properties. This opens the properties window for the cutter. Select the Port tab and verify that the cutter is paired with a USB port. If so and still not connecting to the cutter, if available, connect the USB cord to another USB port on the computer. In the Properties window, the CE-6000 should switch to another port when changing USB ports. Select the new port with the check mark and select Apply/OK.

5. You should now be connect to VectorCUT® 2.0.

*IF CUTTER IS CUTTING JIBBERISH…. The language needs to be set to HPGL from GPGL http://www.jsisign.com/techsupport/graphtec.html

Graphtec CE-6000 Stepping Setting
When setting up the Graphtec CE-6000 cutter, if the cutter language is set to HPGL, the stepping is normally set to 0.025. If the language is set to GPGL, the setting would be 0.100. If the cutter is still cutting incorrectly try the Stepping setting set to 0.025 using the GPGL language.
If you are experiencing a cut size issue, test each language with each Stepping setting. GPGL (0.100 & 0.025) HPGL (0.100 & 0.025)
To test the size issue on the cutter... create a text file 2" high by any width. Cut the file, then measure the height of the text. Obviously it should match, but if it is off, hopefully it will be in equal increments. 1/4", 1/2", 1" etc... So if the file is 2" but cutting at 1/4", set the Stepping to 0.025. Easily put, the lower the Stepping setting, the larger the file will cut. Kind of just the opposite way of thinking for some.
