Puerto Rico Strong Lion Mural -

As a born and raised PuertoRican, now living in Florida since 2001, with all my family (mother, brothers and sister) still living in Puerto Rico I lived through many hurricanes, but none like Maria on September 21, 2017. Over sixty days unable to communicate with my family to know their status after the storm, when I finally visited during the end of December of 2017, it was heartbreaking as the plane made the approach towards landing, to see all the blue-tarps covering what was for many years homes built to withstand the fury of up to 135 mph winds, but not Maria... This design was inspired by a mural in my hometown of Ponce (the lions are our local sport teams, colors I proudly did wear during my basketball years).
